House of Zhen Scrapbook 2003

Buddha Zhen was teaching classes from his Tujunga home. This became known as the "House of Zhen."

In 2003, Richard Del Connor / Buddha Zhen was a full-time Mr. Mom. Raising his children almost entirely alone, he dragged them to every Tai Chi and Kung Fu class he had.

This was an amazing year, with Buddha Zhen still recovering from the black widow bite in 2001. Some of these photos reveal that Buddha Zhen gained over 55 pounds when he was unable to walk or teach in 2002. In 2003, Buddha Zhen worked hard to rebuild his body which had suffered in many ways from the black widow bite.

Most photos here are by Lucy Berger, a student of Tai Chi Youth at that time who took lessons at House of Zhen and the YMCA.
