Financial Problems Motivate Buddha Zhen to Learn Lion Dancing
Buddha Zhen's Tai Mantis school brother, Reverend Steve Baugh, has offered to supply Buddha Zhen with room and board for the next year while teaching BZ the art of Chinese Lion Dancing. His Shaolin Lohan School makes over $150,000 per year at this. He's been trying to get BZ to learn this for a decade.
With the financial collapse of our school and Buddha Zhen's family being evicted from their Montrose home, it appears the wisest decision to make.
Current students will be taught up until Christmas when BZ leaves for Las Vegas.
L.A. Parks & Recreeation is aware of Buddha Zhen's Las Vegas journey and will keep several classes open if the students will continue to attend them. Disciples Shawn and Jessica can lead these classes.
Unsure of whether he'll be establishing a permanent school in Las Vegas, Buddha Zhen is keeping the door open to return to his students on a monthly basis, and return permanently in the next year after learning the Chinese Lion Dance routines.
YMCA classes will be suspended at Christmas also, with no one booked to keep these classes ongoing.

We've trying to offer these online classes for several years. Now, perhaps the current students will be motivated to get these going for their own self-interests.
The Superintendant of CV Park has offered their computer system and monitors to aid in Buddha Zhen conducting these web classes in the park auditorium. Another martial arts instructor taught his students in this manner for many months when he moved to Hawaii.
This will be an interesting testing ground for our online classes.

Although Buddha Zhen supplies the final performances and MC's the shows, the BKF Demo Team should practice without Buddha Zhen so that the school can perform in his absence.

This is an amusing book by Richard Del Connor / Buddha Zhen.
Every student should read it. Especially before their friends read it.

Unlike the "Tai Chi Magic" song, which has 4 measures, or 4 breaths before the Tai Chi Form starts, the "Night Blue Sky" song has only 3 measures or 3 breaths before starting the Tai Chi Short Form of Shaolin Chi Mantis.
Let's practice this together before Buddha Z leaves for Vegas. The start is a little tricky.

Buddha Kung Fu Founded in 2008
Thanks to all the students and disciples who spent 2007 creating our new Buddha Kung Fu school.
Along with the the books by Buddha Zhen, this curriculum was designed to be the best Shaolin Kung Fu program in the world, especially for Americans. "Doable by Americans," was our motto in 2007 and 2008.
It is very disappointing our school did not take off and make a profit in the last few years.

Graduation Ceremony
Perhaps, when we look at the past of Shaolin Chi Mantis, Tai Chi Youth, and our Buddha Kung Fu school, we can see that all these schools were most successful when the students were most successful in attaining their belt ranks.
On first glance, this appears to be less the credit of Buddha Zhen pushing the students to keep up or accomplish the Belt Test Approvals. It seems that in the past few years, Buddha Zhen has been pushing the students more, but attaining less belt rank advancements.
What appears to affect the numbers graduating was an internal competition and cooperation among the students to keep up with the program.
Perhaps the added difficulty of the bookwork readings of the Buddha Kung Fu Student Manual, slowed things down. But some disciples went out of their way to print up copies of the book for other students.
The purpose and design of the Buddha Kung Fu Student Manual was to motivate and inspire students to achieve more. This was somehow not accomplished as planned.

Yang Style Tai Chi Short Form of Shaolin Chi Mantis
Be proud of our Tai Chi Short Form designed by Buddha Zhen. Intended to be traditional, it has evolved slightly and been altered to accommodate the many lessons intended for students of Shaolin Chi Mantis.
Since 1984, when Buddha Zhen taught this to a student for the first time after graduating Tai Mantis Federation in Torrance, Buddha Zhen has developed his teaching style and proven the benefits and effectiveness of this Kung Fu form by teaching hundreds of students and learning from their experiences and health benefits attained by this Yang Style Tai Chi Short Form of Shaolin Chi Mantis.
As Buddha Zhen prepares for his Las Vegas departure he is also anxious to seek new Tai Chi knowledge from his Daoist Master, Reverend Baugh, who also is a Bagua and Hsing-I master.
Disciples Shawn and Jessica are capable of teaching the first semester of Buddha Kung Fu, and with their future advancements will be capable of teaching students higher belt rank levels.
As your older brother and older sister of Buddha Kung Fu, they are to be respected as your Assistant Instructors, and trusted as you'd trust your Shifu. They represent Buddha Zhen, and all students represent their Buddha Kung Fu school.
Be good and do good. That's what good people do.
